Unlike many communities of Nassau County Long Island, the Uniondale School District is growing exponentially. Within the last decade or so the Uniondale student population has increased substantially. After a demographic and enrollment study projection was completed, all indications are that enrollment will continue to increase over the next five to ten years.
In an effort to maintain the Uniondale School District's high-quality educational experience and to avoid potential issues that could arise in the future due to overcrowding, the District held a public meeting to identify and discuss possible solutions. Topics of focus included the possibilities of expanding facilities and necessary infrastructure enhancements.
The Uniondale School District provides a breakdown summary of the four proposed scenarios for new construction and renovation options online. The next board of education meeting to narrow the choices down to two (2) will take place in the auditorium at Uniondale High School on April 4, 2017 at 7:00pm
